GRC platform

A GRC platform for small and mid-size teams

Most GRC platforms assume you have a security team to run them. Ours keeps your policies, controls, risk and evidence for SOC 2, HIPAA, CMMC and ISO 27001 in one place, and a named engineer does the work with you.

What a GRC platform does

Governance, risk and compliance in one place

A GRC platform (some vendors call it a compliance management system) is GRC software that replaces the spreadsheet, the shared drive and the reminder emails that hold most small compliance programs together. It answers three questions every auditor, customer and insurer asks: who owns this, what could go wrong, and can you prove the control works.

  • GovernancePolicies drafted for your business and aligned to your target frameworks, owners named for each control, and acknowledgments tracked.
  • RiskAn assessment of what you have, how it is protected and where the gaps are, turned into a ranked roadmap with an owner for each fix.
  • ComplianceControls monitored on a schedule, evidence collected automatically in a read-only evidence vault, and drift flagged before it becomes an audit exception.

The evidence side is what our compliance automation software does day to day: policies drafted, evidence collected in read-only mode, drift detected on the next scheduled check, and regulatory changes tracked so your program moves when the rules do.

Frameworks covered

One control set, mapped to every framework you carry

We build one control set on CIS Controls v8.1 and map it to each framework that applies to you, so one piece of evidence answers several auditors. Adding a framework later is a mapping exercise, not a second program. The catalogue covers 18 frameworks; these are the ones small teams ask for most.

Your options

GRC platform vs spreadsheets vs a consultant

  • SpreadsheetsFree to start and fine for one framework in year one. They break when evidence needs dates, when a control drifts and nobody notices, and when a second framework doubles the rows.
  • A GRC platform on its ownAutomates evidence and watches connected systems. It assumes someone on your team will run it every week and decide how far each control has to go.
  • A consultant on their ownWrites the policies and the plan, then leaves. The documents describe the company as it was that month.
  • A GRC platform with a named engineerThe platform does the tracking and the engineer does the judgment: scoping, remediation, and the questions an auditor will ask.

What it costs

What a GRC platform costs a small company

Vendr contract data puts Vanta and Drata at about $12,000 to $28,000 a year for a company under 50 people, and Secureframe at about $12,000 to $20,000. That is the platform only: the auditor, a pen test, add-on modules and extra frameworks are on top. The figures and their sources, checked in October 2026, are in GRC platform pricing for SOC 2.

AccuSights starts at $6,000 a year for a small business. It is a fixed fee, it includes the engineer and the remediation work, and you have your number in writing within 24 hours of sending back the intake form. Prices are on our pricing page.

Questions about GRC platforms

What is a GRC platform?
Software for governance, risk and compliance: it holds your policies and controls, assesses risk, collects evidence that the controls work and maps that evidence to each framework you answer to. For a small company it mostly replaces the spreadsheet and the shared drive that hold the program today.
What is the difference between GRC software and compliance automation software?
They overlap. Compliance automation software is the part of a GRC platform that collects evidence and monitors controls. GRC adds the governance and risk side: policies, owners and a risk-ranked plan.
Do small businesses need a GRC platform?
Not always. One framework and a team with time can run on spreadsheets for a year. A GRC platform pays off when a second framework arrives, when evidence has to cover an observation period, or when nobody has time to check controls by hand.
Which frameworks does the AccuSights platform cover?
CMMC 2.0, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, GDPR, EU NIS2 and FINRA, plus the rest of our 18-framework catalogue, including NIST SP 800-171, NYDFS Part 500 and the FTC Safeguards Rule. Evidence is cross-mapped, so work for one counts toward the others.
Is expert help really included?
Yes. A named engineer scopes the work, answers how far each control needs to go and stays through the audit, and remediation is in-house: policies drafted and configurations fixed with you or your IT provider.
Do we have to install an agent?
Not necessarily. The platform connects in read-only mode to your evidence sources. The endpoint agent is optional and collects device evidence where there is no other source, so you do not need an enterprise MDM first.
